We are an actively working and teaching ranch.

We have many classes available.  Some classes are scheduled and held at our ranch throughout the year.  All classes can be scheduled and held at your location or farm also!  The minimum participants required for most classes is four.

For off-site classes, additional fees will be added.  Please contact us for pricing information for off-site classes.

For on-site, private classes that meet the minimum participant requirements, contact us to schedule.

Beginner’s One-Skein Crochet Scarf

Cost: $50

Duration: 3 hours

Minimum: 4  Maximum: 10

Age: Not limited, but children must be accompanied by and adult, able to tie their shoes, hold a pencil, and follow instructions for 3 hours.

You will learn the very basics of crochet in this class: slip knot, chain, and single crochet.  All materials are provided.  You will receive a crochet hook and a skein of alpaca yarn.  Scissors will be provided for in class use.  During class, you will learn how to start crafting a scarf and you will get to take all materials home with you to continue and finish your project.  Class will start by learning to make tassels for their scarf.

Class is taught by Morgan who has been crocheting for over a decade and has won numerous awards for her work including a speed crochet competition!

 

Beginner’s Rigid Heddle Weaving Class

Cost: $75

Duration: 3 hours

Minimum: 3  Maximum: 5

Age: 12+

This beginner level course will teach you the very basics of how to begin creating your own projects on a rigid heddle loom!  In this class, you will complete a coaster to take home with you and you will get to keep any unused yarn.

Alpaca yarn will be provided as well as looms for in class use.  You may also bring your own, instructor approved loom.

Class is taught by Judy, who has won numerous awards for her woven scarves.

*We are Kromski dealers and can sell and/or order looms after class for anyone interested in owning their own loom.

 

Beginning Spinning Wheel Class

Cost: $100

Duration: 3 Hours

Minimum: 3  Maximum: 4

Age: 12+

This beginner level spinning wheel class will teach you the very basics of creating your own yarn!

In this class, you will learn the very basics of fiber: staple length, drafting, and twist, etc.  You will also learn the basic terminology of a spinning wheel.

Class will learn to make yarn using a pencil before moving on to the spinning wheel.

Alpaca roving and spinning wheels will be provided for in class use.

Class is taught by Morgan, who has been spinning for a decade and has won numerous awards for her handspun yarns.

*We are Kromski dealers and can sell and/or order spinning wheels after class for anyone interested in owning their own wheel, which is recommended after class for continued practice.

 

The Basics of Fiber Prep

Cost: $100

Duration: 4 hours

Minimum: 4 Maximum: 6

Age: 12+

You will learn the very basics of how to take raw fiber from an alpaca and get it ready to be made into products!

In this class, you will learn how to skirt an alpaca fleece, wash it and dye it.  While your washed and dyed alpaca is drying, you will learn how to hand card and drum card alpaca fiber to get it ready to spin, felt, weave and more!

All Class participants will share one alpaca fleece that we will provide.

A raw alpaca fleece, scale, soap, dyed, pots, drying rack, hand carders and drum carder will all be provided for in class use.

Participants will get to keep finished dyed and prepped fiber after class.

*We are Kromski dealers and can order hand carders after class for anyone interested in owning their own.

*We are Unicorn dealers and can provide fiber wash and rinse for purchase after class.

*We can provide raw alpaca blankets for purchase after class.

**If this class is taught off-site, we must have access to warm, running water and electricity.

 

Fiber Boot Camp
